Frequently Asked Questions

Why do you want to recycle my diabetic test strips?

We purchase your unused test strips for cash, and offer them to individuals who have little or no medical insurance.  This helps keep them out of the landfills and into the hands of people who need them.

Who pays for shipping?

We pay for all shipping costs if boxes are shipped to us.  We ask that you ship them in a Free USPS Priority Mail Box that is available at your local Post Office.  Most boxes ship for around $6.00.

Do you want my Test Meters and Lancets?

We currently don't pay for meters and lancets.  Most people we work with already have meters and lancets, they just need help getting the test strips.  But we do take donations of your extra sealed boxes of lancets and/or meters if you are otherwise going to throw them away.  We reimburse you shipping costs for lancets and meters only if they are shipped with test strips.

Do you guarantee the quoted value for my test strips?

Yes!  We guarantee the quoted value for test strips as long as they follow our guidelines.  For any test strips that are received in the mail that don't follow our guidelines, we will either contact you to discuss a revised payment amount or we will ship them back to you.

1.  All test strips must be factory sealed.

2.  All test strips must be unexpired, and they expire at least 60 days away from today's date.  We do accept test strips that expire within 30 to 60 days, but pay 50% of the listed price for them.  We do not pay for strips that are expired or will expire within the next 30 days, however we will gladly accept them as a donation.

3.  Boxes must be in new condition.  If there are pharmacy labels on them, we ask that you leave them on.  You can use white-out or a marker to go over your personal information, but please do not try and remove the labels yourself.  We will carefully remove and properly dispose of all labels so the boxes are not damaged.

When do I get paid?

If you live in the Tri-Cities in Eastern Washington, we usually can make arrangements to meet the same day for immediate cash.  If you ship your test strips to us, we send payment out to you (including postage reimbursement) within 1 day of the shipment being received.  We pay you either with a Money Order or through PayPal (whichever method you prefer).

Can I recycle more than one brand at a time?

Yes, you can recycle as many boxes and/or brands that you have.  There is no limit on what you can recycle as long as they meet our guidelines.

Can I recycle other supplies such as needles and insulin?

We don't accept insulin or needles.  We understand that insulin is extremely expensive and there are times when you have insulin that you don't use and don't want to throw away.  Legally, we are not allowed to accept insulin or needles.

Is it legal for me to recycle my test strips?

Yes, it's legal to recycle your test strips, lancets, and meters.  Unlike insulin and needles, these products are available over the counter without a prescription, and anyone can walk into a drug store and purchase these products.
